The Jazzmaster Sings Loudly In The Key Of Success

The Jazzmaster collection from Hamilton is the largest collection from this American brand but it also holds the distinction of being the most successful. Hamilton had its start in the watchmaking business back in 1892 and was quickly recognized for their ‘railroad’ accurate pocket watches. Hamilton didn’t stop there and soon was the official supplier to the US armed forces.

The Jazzmaster Auto Chrono embodies the spirit of this brand with its careful attention to detail, and coupled with the Swiss know-how to produce a simply gorgeous and supremely functional timepiece. The brushed and polished stainless steel case measures in at a stately 42mm in diameter while the watch sits relatively high on the wrist with a case height of 14.83mm. The main crown is of push/pull variety and is ridged maximizing dexterity when setting the time and date. The chronograph uses stylish lever pushpieces that really add a touch of class to this already handsome watch.

The chronograph subdials are located at the 6 and 12 positions revealing the chrono hours and chrono minutes respectively. At the 9 o’clock position is the continuous seconds subdial. Around all three subdials are silver toned rings which provide excellent contrast against the black dial. The silver toned dauphine hands and indexes are coated with Superluminova allowing for the reading of the time at night. The dial is guilloche designed with a ‘Clous de Paris’ motif. Finishing the dial is an angled date aperture at the 4:30 position.

Driving this watch is an accurate Swiss made ETA movement Ref# H21. As with all high quality Swiss made timepieces, the Jazzmaster Auto Chrono uses scratch resistant sapphire crystal as the dial window ensuring the aesthetic beauty doesn’t diminish. This model is fitted with a stainless steel bracelet and is secured with a double deployant clasp. The Jazzmaster is water resistant to 100 meters and retails for USD $1775.
