The Baume et Mercier Linea Collection

The Linea from Swiss manufacturer Baume et Mercier is a carefully constructed timepiece that speaks to the woman on the go. This collection, at first glance, seems rugged with its solid steel or bimetal case, and strong lines. However, Baume et Mercier uses diamonds and mother of pearl to soften this durable timepiece, making the watch a loyal companion through all of the daily adventures of today’s woman.

The Linea features a perfectly mid-sized 32mm for its case diameter. For the case thickness, the Linea comes in two sizes: 8.3mm for the quartz version, and a slightly thicker 10mm for the automatic version. The case uses both polished and brushed finishes, making the watch versatile. The case back is either sapphire crystal exhibition on the self-winding edition or solid for the quartz version. The solid case back also comes equipped with a designated space for engraving, which Baume et Mercier offers at no additional cost to the client.

The main crown is smooth and allows for the easy setting of the date and time. The bezel comes with or without diamonds. When used, the diamonds enhance the shine of the polished bezel. These are cut in the ‘Princess’ shape and exhibit Top Wesselton color. Arabic numerals 12 and 6 are engraved on the fixed bezel.

A domed anti-reflective sapphire crystal protects the dial which is made from white mother of pearl. Rhodium toned indexes and dauphine hands indicate the time on these trendy ladies’ watches. At the 6 position resides a neat date aperture.

As indicated earlier, the Linea collection uses both Swiss made quartz and Swiss made automatic movements for its watches. The automatic movements carry a power reserve of 42 hours and beats at a constant 28,800 VpH (4 Hz). The water resistance on these timepieces is 50 meters (5 bars). The Baume et Mercier Linea Collection comes with a stainless steel bracelet and an interchangeable black calfskin leather strap with a pin buckle made from stainless steel.
