The Ball Trainmaster Kelvin

The Ball Trainmaster Kelvin is a striking timepiece and shows off effortlessly this brand’s dexterity in the arts of horology. Despite its classic appearance, this watch has a few modern fittings, like its off-centered date aperture at the 1 position, and its tritium gas-filled tubes located on the hands, and hour markers. The wonderful thing about these luminous markers is that they color code the dial elements as follows: yellow for the hands; green for the hour markers; and red for the hour marker at 12.

The dial is offered in white, and in grey. Both of these options are brushed in a wonderful sunray pattern. At the 6 position is a mechanical thermometric indicator in retrograde format. The scope of this indication is -35° – 45°. Just below this retrograde scale, Ball Watch Company proudly proclaims this watch to be automatic. The beveled dauphine hands, and indexes are applied and crafted from rose gold. The sweeping seconds hand features a counterbalance depicted in the classic double-R logo.

The Ball Trainmaster Kelvin is fashioned from 18kt rose gold, and it features dimensions of 39.5mm for the diameter, and 10.5mm for the case height. This superb timepiece is fitted with a luxurious brown alligator leather strap that is secured via an ardillon clasp. This model is water resistant to 30 meters or 3 ATM.

The case back is exhibition styled and made from sapphire crystal. Through the case back, the wearer is treated to an amazing view of the self-winding mechanical caliber RR1601-C. The Ball Trainmaster Kelvin pays homage to Lord Kelvin, who in 1848, discovered the temperature we know today as Absolute Zero, where all motion stops. It is quite fitting that Ball Watch Company honors the physicist that made this incredible leap in our knowledge of temperature. The Ball Watch Company Trainmaster Kelvin is limited in its production to 600 pieces worldwide.
