Ulysse Nardin Marine Diver – Monaco Limited Edition

Ulysse Nardin, a brand honored as the Principal Sponsor of the Monaco Yacht Show for the sixth consecutive year, presents its new Marine Diver Monaco Limited Edition – a timepiece designed to pay tribute to one of the most prestigious yachting events in the world.

The 24th edition of the Monaco Yacht Show was held from Wednesday the 24th to Saturday the 27th of September 2014, in the world’s second smallest state in land area. The Show is the world’s biggest annual trade show of its kind, and it is held under the high patronage of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco. This year’s event was very special, as it showcased more yachts than ever before and hosted about 33,000 of visitors. To mark the occasion, the famous Swiss brand has released an equally special watch, built upon its everlasting passion for the marine world.

Ever since its early beginnings in the 19th century, Ulysse Nardin was tightly associated with sailing and navigation. The brand that was once known after its high-quality marine chronometers, now continues with its practice of combining tradition and innovation. The Marine Diver model is a perfect example of this philosophy, as it successfully blends the luxury of a high-end watchmaking with practical and sporty appeal of dive watches. The model was slightly redesigned earlier this year, while keeping its essentials intact. The Monaco Limited Edition, which was unveiled a couple of days ago, is a beautiful example of these aesthetic improvements.

Ulysse Nardin Marine Diver Monaco Limited Edition is crafted from stainless steel and it measures 44mm in diameter. The watch is paired with a deep blue dial, embellished with a sailing-boat-like motif, while the wave pattern echoes along the bezel. The brand’s anchor insignia is displayed at 2 o’clock, whereas the solid case-back reveals an outline of a boat engraved in steel and embraced by inscriptions “Conquer the ocean” and “Monaco.” This elegant diver is water resistant to 300 meters, and it features a professional bidirectional rotating bezel, for measuring immersion time. The dial is also designed to accompany an explorer on his journey to the bottom of the ocean, as it features oversized hour markers and hands coated with luminous material. The small seconds counter, which is positioned at 6 o’clock, is also larger than what it would typically be, ensuring the highest level of readability even in low light conditions.

Ulysse Nardin Marine Diver Monaco Limited Edition 263-10LE-3/93_MON is available in 100 pieces worldwide. The watch is powered by the UN-26 automatic-winding caliber, which runs on about 42 hours of power reserve. It is mounted on a high-class blue rubber strap with titanium components and deployant clasp.
