Tissot Releases The Heritage Prince I For 2013

Over the years, Tissot has been a solid watchmaker; with leaps in innovation, and a practical, no non-sense approach to horology. The Tissot Heritage Prince is reminiscent of the “Banana Watch” of 1916. The Banana watch was made from 18kt gold, and earned the name Banana due to its curved case which took the shape of the wrist. In the 90’s and early 2000’s, the Banana Watch was re-released with the monikers Tissot classic Prince I and II; pointing to the important relationship between Tissot and the Czar’s Empire.

The Tissot Heritage Prince I comes in a gent’s size with dimensions of 26.8mm in width and 49mm in height, making for a rectangular case. This watch lies relatively flat on the wrist with a case thickness of 12.65mm. The case is crafted from finely brushed stainless steel while the bezel holds firmly the Hesalite glass. Hesalite glass is an improvement from acrylic as this type of crystal doesn’t shatter and if scratched can be polished back to its original perfection. The onion styled crown carries deep ridges making it easy to adjust the time on this handsome model.

The dial features large stylish Arabic numerals for the hour markers, and blued steel sword shaped hands which contrast wonderfully against the ivory colored dial. The brand uses their vintage logo giving this watch an antiqued feel. The movement used is the ETA based 901.001 quartz movement ensuring the accuracy of this fine timepiece. A black leather strap with black saddle stitching is used by Tissot to secure this piece to the wrist. The brand also uses a double deployant buckle in keeping with the vintage aesthetic of the Heritage Prince I. This model is manufactured to withstand 30 meters (100 feet) of water pressure making this a good choice for daily wear. As with all Tissot watches the Heritage Prince I carries a 2 year International Guarantee.
