The NOMOS Tetra Berlin

NOMOS has released four new additions to their square Tetra collection, each one being named after a historic location in Berlin. All four of the watches feature exuberant dial colorations. These hues range from peach, and blue to hunter green, and mint green. The peach dial and blue dial editions are named Nachtijall and Goldelse after mockingbirds that live in the Grunewald forest and the Viceroy Column in Tiergarten respectively, while the hunter green and mint green versions are named after Clarchen and Kleen. Clarchen is named for a renowned dance hall, whereas Kleen translates to “Little One” in a German dialect.

These timepieces from NOMOS are crafted from stainless steel, polished to a fine finish. For a ladies’ collection, the Berlin is sized almost perfectly with a case diameter of 29.5mm. The case height of these models would be considered ultra-thin coming in at a thickness of a mere 6.3mm.

On the case back is an exhibition sapphire crystal used so that the wearer can admire the manual wound movement. The Nachtijall, Goldelse, and Clarchen are fitted with the in house alpha movement, while the Kleen uses a DUW 4301 caliber. The alpha movement features Glashutte ribbing and perlage which decorate the movement along the bridges and the ¾ main plate. The alpha movement carries 43 hours of power reserve and 17 jewels. Apart from the color variations, aesthetically the Kleen is outfitted with a power reserve indicator near to the 12 position.

At the 6 position on each watch is a small seconds subdial. There are also rose gold toned hands and hour markers which equally complement and contrast against the various dial colors. The only exception is the Goldelse, which uses silver toned hour markers.
