The Glashutte Original Pavonina

Glashutte has added a new model to the already successful Pavonina women’s collection. This Glashutte Original Pavonina comes in an 18kt white gold case and is fully set with gleaming diamonds. The diamonds are round brilliant and radiant cut and number 308 completely covering the case. Even the lugs are fully paved with 74 diamonds. It should be of no surprise that Glashutte picks these diamonds individually for size, color, and clarity – all of which are of the highest quality. This statement of luxury uses a cushion shaped case, which is Art Deco in design – a style highly favored from the roaring 20’s.

The case measures in at 31mm across and lies flat with a 7.5mm case height. The prominent main crown is textured for the effortless adjustment of the time and date. This model is featured with a stunning orchid toned satin strap. The straps are all interchangeable with the use of a quick-change pin. The case back is screw mounted and can be engraved upon request by Glashutte.  This ladies’ timepiece is water resistant to 5 Bars or 50 meters.

The in house made dial features a further 74 diamonds split between the case and the hour markers. Around the hour chapter ring is a guilloche design that enhances the sophisticated look of the watch. Rhodium toned feuille hands indicate the hours and the minutes, while the date is displayed via a aperture at the 6 o’clock position. Over the dial is a domed scratch resistant sapphire crystal, which has been glare proofed on both sides. At the 6 position, Glashutte proudly proclaims this watch to be made in Germany.

The movement powering this watch is a quartz caliber 03-01, which features a power reserve of about 4 years. What I think is pretty cool is the Cotes de Geneve decoration along the mainplate. This model also features enhanced anti-magnetic protection from electrical devices through a ring shield and an intermediate plate. Glashutte backs this watch with a 2 year international guarantee.
