The Christophe Claret Soprano

The Christophe Claret Soprano marries the distinctive style of Christophe Claret to the prestige of a Grande Sonnerie minute repeater. The Soprano chimes on demand the four note song of Big Ben, which is officially known as the Westminster chime. The Westminster chime on this model features four cathedral style gongs and four hammers on stepped bridges from the Charles X period. This timepiece is also fitted with a 60 second flying tourbillon for exceptional precision.

This Christophe Claret Soprano timepiece is offered in three versions – 18kt red gold and Anthracite PVD titanium, 18kt white gold and Anthracite PVD titanium with either black PVD and ruby hands, or black PVD and blue spinel hands. Each of these versions is released in a very exclusive numbered series of 8 pieces.

The round cases on these models measure 45mm across, and ride high on the wrist with a case height of 15.32mm. The main crown is crafted from red gold and titanium, or white gold and titanium depending on the model. The leather strap is black, hand sewn alligator, with contrast stitching to match the hands. Securing the strap is a red gold or white gold and titanium pin buckle. As a dress watch, this model is water resistant to only 30 meters. A lever at the 8 position is responsible for activating the Westminster chiming mechanism.

The dial is skeletonized revealing the hand wound mechanical movement caliber TRD98, which features an amazing 450 individual parts. The movement carries an approximate autonomy. The balance oscillates at a frequency of 21,600 VpH, and is coupled with a classic lever escapement. The tourbillon, located at the 6 position on the dial, features a parachute shock protection system. The movement features an innovative transparent main spring barrel, which acts as a dynamograph revealing the torque of the main spring.
