The Aviator Bristol Bulldog

This British Bi-plane, officially known as the Bristol Bulldog, was introduced as an exceptional single-seater, which could perform during both night and daytime missions. The British Air Ministry entered this new bi-plane into service in 1929. The Bristol Bulldog was used extensively during the interim between the two World Wars. Its superior construction and aeronautical acrobatic abilities not only made the Bulldog a favorite with the Royal Air Force but also in nine other countries.

The Bristol Bulldog from Aviator watches comes as a new edition arising from the Bristol Bulldog F2B. The major difference between these two first class timepieces comes in the placement of the small seconds counter, which was located at 6 and is now located at the 9 position. Secondly, the indicator within the small seconds subdial is made in the form of a propeller, which pays homage to the heritage of the Bristol Bulldog.

The case of this stunning timepiece is made from both finely brushed and highly polished stainless steel and carries dimensions of 45mm for the diameter and 13mm for the case height. Though the dimensions are large, this watch only weighs a total 130 grams. This is made possible through the usage of a brown leather strap. The leather strap is attached to the case via unusual yet attractive lugs, which enhance the pocket watch aesthetic. Securing the strap is tang type buckle also made from stainless steel.

The Aviator Bristol Bulldog is offered in three distinct dial versions: black, silver, and grey. Each version features large Arabic numeral hour markers. The hands are sword shaped and are coated with Super-LumiNova for the effortless reading of the time during low light conditions. At the 3 position is a date aperture. The dial layout is reminiscent of the dashboard design of the Bristol Bulldog. Protecting the dial is a scratch resistant sapphire crystal which also features anti-reflective treatment. This amazing timepiece is powered by a Sellita SW 260-1 or an ETA 2895-2.
