Mesut Ozil and his Cyrus Kuros Watch

The Cyrus Kuros watch collection seems to be one of the more obscure brands out there. However, this Swiss watchmaker is no slouch when it comes to design. At first glance, each and every case component seems to be very unique and is fashioned with a diligence to the craft that is quite rare in contemporary watchmaking. The name Kuros is the Greek translation of the name Cyrus. The brand owes its name to the conqueror Cyrus the Great.

This model is made from DLC titanium and it features a robust looking case. The Cyrus Kuros watch is tonneau shaped with textured integrated lever chronograph pushers and a swizzled main crown. At the 9 position is yet another crown that when pushed reveals the individual number of the watch. This timepiece is limited to 188 pieces.

The case is cambered for a perfect fit on the wrist. On the reverse side, the case back is mostly solid with a small sapphire crystal aperture revealing the balance wheel. This superb gent’s watch is fitted with a thick, luxuriant, black rubber strap with overlapping wave motifs. The strap is secured by a double folding clasp with dual release push pieces made from DLC titanium. This Cyrus Kuros watch is offered in an oversized 44mm case.

The dial is charcoal colored with unique three dimensional white Arabic numeral indexes. As a chronograph, this model features a central seconds hand and subdials at the 3 and 6 positions. The counter at the 9 position displays the continuous seconds. The subdials all rotate to indicate the chronograph reading. At the 12 position is located a large date aperture. The hands are rhodium toned with lume for exceptional readability of the time at night. The dial also features a unique guilloche pattern making this watch a standalone beauty from this exciting Swiss watch manufacturer.
