Hublot’s Classic Fusion Night Out Tourbillon

Hublot is probably best known for their oversized creations like the ‘Big Bang’ and the ‘King Power’ but their Classic collection is still very much alive and is, in fact, doing exceptionally well. The Hublot brand is relatively young by watchmaking standards currently only in its third decade. The Classic Fusion Night Out tourbillon goes back to Hublot’s beginnings in terms of form but is updated through the use of newer materials and a tourbillon which is viewed as the apogee of complications.

The case of the Classic Fusion Night Out is sculpted from black polished ceramic and carries a case diameter of 45mm which is quite oversized but doesn’t seem so due to the thin case height. The thinness of the case is owed in large part to the hand wound movement MHUB6011, which is produced in Hublot’s workshops. The bezel continues in the same vain as the case with the black polished ceramic but is also fitted with six “H” shaped screws made from titanium. As a staple, Hublot also includes the bezel lugs which can be found in every single watch leaving the manufacturer. The main crown is ridged for the easy winding and time setting of this model.

As this is a dress watch and the central theme is black it is fitting that the dial is also black. The hour markers are rendered as indexes with ten hand set baguette diamonds with a total caret weight of 35 points. The hands are strait sword shaped and are rhodium toned offering excellent contrast against the black lacquered dial. At the six position is located the tourbillon which is used to negate the effects of gravity on the escapement making for accurate timekeeping. Protecting the dial is a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides of the crystal. Completing this watch is a shiny black calf skin leather strap, which has been sewn onto black rubber. This gorgeous strap is clasped using a deployant buckle made from black PVD steel.
