The Cartier Calibre De Cartier Chronograph

The Cartier Calibre de Cartier Chronograph is a bold expression of the brand’s desire to produce only excellence. The Calibre was launched in 2010, and since then has been outfitted with a state of the art chronograph making this watch a must have for any serious collector. The Calibre de Cartier Chronograph is equipped with a new Manufacture Cartier movement – the 1904 MC.

The movement is mechanical self-winding and is visible through the sapphire crystal exhibition case back. The 35 jeweled movement is decorated with Cotes de Genève on the oscillating weight and main plate. The 1904 MC movement carries a balance wheel which beats at an unrelenting 28,800 VpH, ensuring the accuracy of this model.

The case is crafted from solid stainless steel which is finely brushed on the middle case and polished on its ultra-thin bezel. This fine timepiece carries case dimensions of 42mm for the diameter and 12.6mm for the case height. Cartier also polishes the chronograph pushers and iconic hexagonal main crown which is fitted with a faceted dark blue spinel. The chronograph pushers offer a greater surface area for ease in the chronograph’s activation. The bracelet is Cartier’s own “H” bracelet which is as iconic as the watch itself. The bracelet is also made from stainless steel and features a triple deployant clasp with a dual push button release system.

The dial is protected by sapphire crystal, glare proofed on both sides. The dial on this model is a partially snailed opaline and features black applied Roman numerals from 9 to 3, and black rimmed baton indexes from 4 through 8. The Roman numeral at the 12 position is made prominent and is underlined by the Cartier logo. The hours and minutes hands are made from black steel and are coated with lume for nighttime readability.

The chronograph uses a central seconds hand, and subdials at 3 and 9 indicating the chronograph minutes and hours. This chronograph can time events of up to 12 hours in duration. On the flange is a conservative minute track rendered with black Arabic numerals. At the 6 o’clock position there is a large cut out date display window which indicates the date by means of a black triangle. Cartier places one of its secret trademarks in the Roman numeral X, thus making this watch extremely difficult to counterfeit.

This incredible piece is made to withstand water pressure of up to 100 meters (10 bars). As with all Cartier watches, the Calibre comes with an International 2 year guarantee.
