Bremont and Jaguar are set to create a series of 6 amazing timepieces this year called the Bremont Lightweight E-Type Jaguar. Bremont has really come to the fore this year with some of the world’s most delightful timepieces that incorporate iconic pieces of history.
The watches for this year are made to complement 6 new Jaguar Lightweight E-Types to finalize the 1963 production run. Jaguar chose Bremont not only because they have worked closely in the past but also because both brands are essentially British made. The watches made their public debut alongside the Jaguar automobiles on the 14th of August at the Pebble Beach Concours D’Elegance.
The case of this watch comes in a diameter of 43mm. For those familiar with Bremont, this comes as no surprise as this watch brand favors this particular size for its gent’s models. This timepiece uses the aluminum saved from the production of the cars and was used in the production of the 18kt white gold watch cases. The aluminum will be featured as a band on the case middle and will be anodized to match the color of each car. On each case back is engraved the engine number that is found on the cars that it is paired with. The main crown is textured with the tire motif of the Dunlop racing tires from the 1960’s. The leather used for the strap will come from the Connolly leather, which is used to trim the interior of these cars.
The black dial is reminiscent of the RPM gauge found on the cars and are equipped with a red quadrant. This model even features beveled and chamfered hands made to look like the needle that indicates the RPM. At the 9 position is a prominent small seconds register. The case back is transparent so that one can see the breathtakingly decorated self-winding movement. The rotor is themed like the steering wheel of the Jaguar. This model features an autonomy of 50 hours.
