Adriatica Twin Motion

The Adriatica Twin Motion

The Adriatica Twin Motion is a gem of watchmaking from this Swiss made manufacturer. The term ‘Twin Motion’ refers to the clockwise motion of the hands indicating the time, and the retrograde motion of the indicators displaying the calendar functions.

Adriatica hails from the Italian side of Switzerland and has specialized in a number of watchmaking disciplines. The difference is that Adriatica tries to keep their prices very competitive while offering Swiss made movements and little luxuries like sapphire crystal. Today, Adriatica is a globally recognized brand, and has been a member of the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry since 2006.

The Adriatica Twin Motion comes in two versions – a yellow gold PVD plated model, and a polished stainless steel version. The case features dimensions of 46mm for the diameter, and 12mm for the case height. In total, this watch weighs 81 grams, so it is quite light. Both editions of this watch are fitted with a genuine black leather strap, and are secured using traditional pin buckle clasps made from a complementary case material. The Twin Motion features a water resistance of 50 meters, which makes it a good choice for daily wear. Sapphire crystal is used by Adriatica for its superior scratch resistant properties.

The dial is white on both models and it features either yellow gold toned or blued steel skeletonized hands. The hour markers are rendered as indexes. At the 6 position is a retrograde display for the date, while at the 12 position, the retrograde display features the day of the week. At 9 o’clock, the retrograde display carries three options that can be changed. The options include LT for Local Time, GMT for a second time zone, and CH for Chronograph. Each of these functions can be accessed by just pushing the main crown in until it selects the function that is required. All of this is possible thanks to the Soprod E06 Swiss made quartz movement.
