Vacheron Constantin has released a timepiece that embodies the concept of Haute Couture. The Kalla HC a Pampilles is a work of watchmaking art that is as timeless as it is stunning. This timepiece is gem set with over 300 sparkling, high quality diamonds. Vacheron uses nothing but the highest quality materials in the making of this watch. The diamonds used are IF (internally flawless) and are colorless. These stones are individually set and are cut expertly into three different shapes: round, princess, and flame cut (modified emerald cut). There are, in fact, 39 princess cut diamonds, 87 flame cut diamonds, and 184 round brilliant diamonds. The total carat weight on this watch is a mind blowing 28.60ct.
Though this watch looks delicate, it is surprisingly large with case dimensions of 40mm for the diameter, and 56mm lug to lug. The Kalla HC a Pampilles is thin due to its manually wound movement. The case only rises 10mm off the wrist. This timepiece is oval shaped and is crafted in 18kt white gold. The bracelet on the Kalla is also made from 18kt white gold and is completely covered by diamonds.
The movement is the hand wound caliber 1005. This movement is made rectangular to fit the oval case shape. The caliber 1005 is only 3.6mm thick, which makes it an ultra-thin movement. The balance wheel oscillates at the unconventional rate of 19,800 VpH (2.75 Hz). This 17 jeweled movement carries a minimum of 35 hours in power reserve.
The dial is grey and is crafted from 18kt white gold. The dial is pave set in diamonds. The abstract design of the watch makes telling time difficult but to be honest this is more of a piece of jewelry that happens to tell the time. Naturally this watch comes with the Vacheron Constantin warranty.
