Vacheron Constantin Collection Excellence Platine Day-Date and Power Reserve Unveiled in Hong Kong

Vacheron Constantin’s Collection Excellence Platine welcomes yet another sophisticated model aimed at admirers of formal purity and elegant, harmoniously proportioned watches. Traditionelle, one of the basic Vacheron Constantin collections, inspired by the best traditions of Swiss watchmaking, now embraces an utterly luxurious Traditionnelle Day-Date and Power Reserve model, which is almost entirely made of platinum.

The Collection Excellence Platine, which was launched back in 2006, is governed by the spirit of excellence and prestige. It comprises some of the Vacheron Constantin’s most valued models from several collections, rendered in rare and precious platinum. All watches in this exclusive lineup are housed in platinum cases, fitted with a crown in 950 platinum, secured by a platinum folding clasp, and set with a sandblasted platinum dial. The Manufacture has pushed the concept of exclusivity so far that even stitching in the blue leather straps of these watches is made of platinum threads.

The recently introduced Traditionnelle Collection Excellence Platine Day-Date and Power Reserve belongs to the Manufacture’s range of useful complications. The caliber powering this watch is developed and manufactured in the Vacheron Constantin workshops, and it fits to its medium complication segment. As any other model from the Collection Excellence Platine, the latest Traditionelle model is produced in individually numbered limited series. This time, there are only 100 of these watches available on the market.

Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Collection Excellence Platine Day-Date and Power Reserve comes in a 39.5 mm-diameter case, emanating the spirit of timeless elegance and restrained sophistication. A slender platinum bezel embraces the clean watch face that offers central display for the hours, minutes, and seconds, in addition to its two practical complications: a pointer-type indications for the power reserve, and the date and the day of the week. The watch is powered by an in-house mechanical self-winding movement Calibre 2475, which beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour, and provides around 40 hours of power reserve. The movement is assembled from 264 individual parts and fitted with 27 friction-reducing jewels, serving to ensure that a watch can operate for longer intervals between servicing. A transparent sapphire crystal on the case-back provides an unrestrained view at its meticulous finishes: Côtes de Genève, beveled and rhodiumed bridges and a circular-grained mainplate.

Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Collection Excellence Platine Day-Date and Power Reserve is referenced as 85290/000P-9947. The watch bears the prestigious Hallmark of Geneva, which is the quality seal of the Watchmaking School of Geneva, one of the highest accolades in the watchmaking industry.
