The Viewmatic Skeleton Gent's From Hamilton

The Hamilton Viewmatic Skeleton for gents is a spectacular timepiece, which has gained notoriety on the watch scene due to its strong design elements and its affordable price point for a Swiss made self-winding skeleton watch. This piece was designed strictly as a dressy watch with its smooth lines and polished exterior. Hamilton continues to wow us with their uncanny ability to produce sensational timepieces that carry a style that is all their own.

As said before, the Viewmatic Skeleton is a lovely dress watch; this is emphasized by its unobtrusive case size which comes in at only 40mm – perfect for wear under a tailored suit. Thickness of the watch is just 11mm. Though this is not anywhere close to the thinnest watch on the market, it is nowhere near the vicinity of bulky. The push/pull styled crown is ridged allowing for the easy winding and setting of this timepiece. As a Skeletonized watch, it offers a clean view of the movement through the sapphire crystal on the front and back of the watch. Sapphire crystal is chosen because of its highly scratch resistant properties, which will maintain the aesthetic value of these watches for longer.

The movement is automatic, which means that it gains the energy necessary to run the watch from the movement of the wrist. This movement causes an oscillating rotor to spin which in turn winds a mainspring. As a member of the Swatch group, Hamilton probably has fitted the Viewmatic Skeleton with an ETA movement – one of the workhorses of the Swiss watchmaking industry.

Despite being a skeleton watch the legibility is still good thanks to the rhodium toned hands that are coated with lume. On the flange is a minute track which leads down into a ring inscribed with “Hamilton” and “Viewmatic”, interrupted only by hour markers. Completing this watch is a 5 piece stainless steel bracelet with a triple deployant clasp.
