TW Steel has quickly become one of the leading watch brands globally with their distinctive designs carved from the brand’s DNA. The Slim Line Collection is completely different to anything that the TW Steel has done in the past. As the name might suggest, this new series is a thin dress watch, which contrast’s with the rest of the manufacturer’s inventory, which is generally bold and sporty.
Apart from the clear aesthetic differences, there is a feeling of understated luxury when wearing these new models. TW Steel has taken a different stance with this watch and sought out two talented designers from New York and Amsterdamin men’s couture to work with in pairing the Slim Line collection with a tailored suit.
The case, like many other of their creations, is made in solid, hypoallergenic 316L stainless steel or yellow old ion plated stainless steel both of which have been polished to a fine finish. However, TW Steel still gives the watch a large diameter, coming in at 45mm.
The main crown is ridged for the effortless setting of the time and the date. The crown on this model is considerably smaller than the usual canteen-styled crowns used in other collections from TW Steel. Depending on the dial color, these models are offered in black, brown, or blue leather straps, secured using a pin buckle clasp made from a metal complementing the case. The Slim Line series is water resistant to 50 meters or 5 Bars.
The dials come in either black, silver, or blue and feature elongated Arabic numeral hour markers and indexes. The hands are baton shaped and contrast nicely against the dial for optimal readability. At the 3 position is a date display window. TW Steel ups the ante with these models and uses highly scratch resistant sapphire crystal to protect the dial and defend against nicks. Powering these watches is an accurate Japanese made quartz movement caliber 1S13.
