The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Day Date Lady's

The name Rolex has always evoked a sense of luxury, pride, and a timeless style that has embedded itself in every region of the world. Rolex first released the Oyster Perpetual Day Date in 1956, it was to be the very first watch in the world to indicate the day of the week spelt out in full. The Oyster Perpetual Day Date is also known to Rolex aficionados as the ‘Presidents’ as this watch was presented to Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower upon his inauguration as the President of the United States. Today the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Day Date has remained virtually unchanged, and is made only in 950 platinum and 18kt gold.

The watch featured today is crafted from 18kt Everose gold, which is Rolex’s version of rose or pink gold. The case features a relatively large 36mm diameter, which sits prominently on the wrists of many of today’s high profile women. The bezel on this model is encrusted with high quality round brilliant diamonds, which have been individually set by Rolex’s master jewelers. Diamonds can also be found tracing the outline of the dial and hour track for a truly sublime statement of luxury. The case back is solid and in collaboration with the screwed down main crown provide this trendy lady’s watch with a water resistance of 100 meters (10 ATM). The case back also uses a special tool only found with Rolex certified watchmakers, ensuring that there is no undue tampering with the movement.

Rolex equips this timepiece with a self-winding mechanical movement caliber 3155, which is created entirely in house by Rolex. The movement carries the highly accurate Parachrom hairspring, which uses a farromagnetic alloy, which is known to have highly antimagnetic properties. The useage of the Parachrom hairspring is also resistant to temperature variations and shocks, which can lead to anomalies in accuracy. The Parachrom hairspring took many years of R&D to develop and is finer then a human hair. The 3155 movement is certified by the COSC as a chronometer.

The dial features a pink dial, which has a guilloche design in a starburst pattern. The hour markers used are formed with diamonds, while the rhodium toned hands offer excellent contrast against the dial for enhanced readability. The day aperture can be found at the 12 position, while the date display is located at 3 under a magnifier for optimal legibility.

This georgeous lady’s watch from Rolex is fitted with their Presidents bracelet, which uses a very comfortable, flat, three-piece layout, and is secured by Rolex’s Oyster lock clasp.
