The New Rado Esenza Ceramic Touch

Released by Rado for Baselworld last year is a watch that will redefine the boundaries of horology. Presenting the Rado Esenza Touch Ceramic. Most technological advancements in watchmaking are usually geared towards men but this innovation is made exclusively for women. The Esenza Touch Ceramic is the world’s first touch watch using a ceramic case. The case is used to adjust the time by pressing and sweeping along the side of the case. There are two sensors on each side of the case. The left side sensors control the hours, while the right side sensors are used to modify the minutes.

As stated before, the case is made totally from ceramic, which is both lighter and harder than stainless steel; and unlike titanium, which also carries those properties, ceramic is highly scratch resistant. The case features monobloc construction carried out under high pressure to ensure the success of the Touch feature on the watch. This new collection comes in two variations: white and black ceramic. There is also a limited version with diamonds that Watch Marvel will be sure to cover soon.

The case carries a unique oval shape with case dimensions of 33mm across and 42mm top to bottom. The watch is quite thin with a case height of just 8.4mm. The three piece bracelet also made from ceramic features a folding titanium clasp. The water resistance on this model stands at a cool 30 meters, making this watch ideal for daily wear. The case back is made from stainless steel. Rado advises to wear the watch while setting the time as then the watch becomes an extension of the body.

The white dial features round brilliant diamonds at the 3, 6, 9, and 12 positions. Protecting the case is a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. The Rado Esenza Ceramic Touch is driven by an accurate quartz movement made entirely in Switzerland. This movement features a battery with a four year battery life, which is substantially longer than conventional batteries in the industry.
