This new Linde Werdelin Oktopus Blumoon is characterized by its royal blue backdrop and strap. Linde Werdelin crafts this timepiece in Grade 5 titanium, which is the best alloy of titanium available on the market today. Most titanium watches being sold are usually made in Grade 2 titanium, due to this alloy being relatively easy to manipulate. The usage of Grade 5 titanium presents its own set of difficulties to work with, but Linde Werdelin spends the hours in the pursuit of excellence. The Oktopus Blumoon is not mass produced, instead it is made in a very limited quantity of 59 pieces.
The case features dimensions of 44mm, and a lug-to-lug measurement of 46mm, which guarantees a great wrist presence without being too bulky. The case height is 15mm tall, perfectly proportioned to the case diameter. The case of the watch uses three finishes – satin, polished, and microbilé for some light play, almost unheard of for titanium watches. The stationary bezel features 8 rivets. The main crown is textured Water resistance on this timepiece is 300 meters, which will defend the watch against the incursion of water in almost any condition – even diving. The blue rubber strap is interchangeable with other colors using Linde Werdelin’s proprietary strap change system.
The dial features a moon phase ring that is visible thanks to the openworked nature of the dial. The photo-realistic moon phase display is set against a blue backdrop, giving the watch its iconic name – Blumoon. The large Arabic numerals at the 12, 3, and 9 positions are made in Luminova. The hands are made from blued steel to complement the overall aesthetic of the Oktopus Blumoon.
Powering this amazing timepiece is an in-house LW self-winding movement. The movement carries an autonomy of 44 hours, and the balance wheel unremittingly vibrates at 28,800 alternations per hours.
