Well done Harry Winston. The Harry Winston Ocean Tourbillon GMT carries an effortless grace matched only by its innovative excellence. This timepiece is offered in either 18kt rose gold or 18kt white gold. Both editions are outfitted with neatly tapering black alligator leather straps, which are secured using ardillon buckles made from 18kt gold complementing the case.
The 45mm case features both brushed and polished finishes, which gives the Ocean Tourbillon GMT a very dressy aesthetic. This model is water resistant to 100 meters making this timepiece worthy to be worn every day. This model, manufactured in Geneva, is limited in its production to just 50 pieces per version.
The case back is made from scratch resistant, transparent, sapphire crystal that reveals the self-winding movement powering this model. The Ocean Tourbillon GMT from Harry Winston carries a movement that vibrates at 28,800 alternations per hour. The autonomy on this watch is an amazing 110 hours once fully wound.
The dial is black galvanic with applied hour markers. There are two main dials on this watch displaying the home time and a second time zone at the 2 and 9 positions respectively. Both dials carry a circular diamond point finish at the center. The hands used in each of the dials are sword shaped, skeletonized and are either rose gold toned or rhodium toned depending on the model, which contrasts against the black dial. On the GMT analog counter is a day/night indicator. At the 11 position is an aperture for the corresponding city to the second time zone. The 4:30 position is occupied by a modest date display window.
At the 6 position is a large aperture featuring a tourbillon incorporating a small seconds counter. Tourbillons negate the effects of gravity pushing the escapement to its limit in all directions so that each motion of the tourbillon is cancelled out by its equal and opposite number. The Harry Winston Ocean Tourbillon GMT is a true example of Haute Horlogerie.
