The deLaCour City Cadet Tech Limited Edition

The City Cadet Tech Limited Edition from deLaCour is a bold design made for women. The case is shaped into a horizontal ellipse, which gives it great wrist presence without making it look too big on the feminine wrist. For those not familiar with deLaCour, the brand is Swiss made and was launched in 2003. Since its inception the Swiss brand has been constantly challenging itself to create only exceptional timepieces. deLaCour only produces watches in a small batches of numbered limited editions. The City Cadet Tech is no exception to any of the values championed by this incredible watchmaker.

The case is sculpted from 18kt pink gold with numerous diamonds set in a single line along the bezel and lugs. There is no doubt that these diamonds represent the top tiers of color and clarity used by gemologists. The inclusion of diamonds into this model should come as no surprise as one of deLaCour’s founders and creative director is a famous jewelry designer. The case is outfitted with a white alligator leather strap that has been carefully hand-stitched. The case comes in measurements of 43.5mm X 40.3mm X 9.75mm, which is interesting as it does give good wrist presence yet still lays flat on the wrist allowing it to be worn under a tailored long sleeved top.

The deLaCour City Cadet Tech Limited Edition uses optical illusions on the dial to create a 3D effect. It must be noted that in conjunction with the pavé diamond dial, the result is simply mind-blowing. There are twin dials displaying two independent time zones, each featuring a small seconds counter. The different time zones are controlled by main crowns at the 3 and 9 positions on the case. At the 6 position on the 18kt pink gold dial is an inscription reading “individually crafted”. Powering this model are two Swiss made quartz calibers DC 223.
