Ralph Lauren Rides High With The Lady's Stirrup In 18kt

This watch from Ralph Lauren has been making waves in the world of horology since its release. Anyone with even an inkling of an eye doesn’t have to guess why this watch is called the Stirrup. The case is designed with the asymmetric stirrup shape and comes strictly in 18kt white, rose, or yellow gold. Even though it looks very unique, one can see very close similarities to the La Dona Collection from Cartier that was released 7 or 8 years ago.

Ralph Lauren watches and jewelry are in a 50/50 partnership with Richemont S.A which incidentally owns Cartier. However, though the watch is similar in look it is by no means a carbon copy and has features that has made it one of the most iconic pieces from Ralph Lauren.

The case of the Stirrup carries dimensions of 27.70mm x 29.30mm which makes it quite petite even though it may look bigger on the wrist due to the nature of its shape.  The main crown is ridged making it easier to wind the watch or to adjust the time. These watches don’t use exhibition case backs but instead use pure 18kt gold which apart from being precious is completely hypoallergenic.

The movement of the lady’s Stirrup is mechanical manual winding and is manufactured and assembled in Switzerland. The Caliber RL430 has a power reserve of approximately 40 hours. What is fascinating about the movement as well is its thinness which comes in at 2.10mm. Even though the movement is hidden from view, Ralph Lauren still takes the time to decorate it with Cote de Genève and Periage designs.

The bracelet is also made from 18kt gold and is made using bracelet links adding to the jewelry watch factor. The Stirrup collection also gives the options of leather straps and full pave diamond cases. This model is also equipped with scratch resistant sapphire crystal and is water resistant to 30 meters.
