BRM R50

Magnificent has a New Name - The BRM R50

This watch is all shades of awesome. BRM’s emblematic watch, the R50 movement is inspired by a racing bike engine, with a cylinder resting on three glassfibre or carbon fibre triangles.

The R50 design is based on the isolastic® principle of mounting the flexible movement on carbon arms. The arms are held under pressure in a casing circle via progressive pitch springs, which isolates the movement from shocks and any intrusive vibrations, like an engine is isolated from the chassis by Silentblocs.

There are three versions available for the R50 – the R-50-TN, which features a checkered titanium case with black PVD with your choice of red, orange, or yellow hands; the R-50-MK, which is crafted from Makrolon® case (engineered polymer) and the option of white, red, yellow, or orange hands; and the R-50-Gulf, which is also made in titanium and black PVD but features special Gulf light blue and orange hands and is limited to 30 pieces.

All three watches are fitted on different straps from black leather, racing, and leather with holes respectively. Also respectively, the price points range from €17,800, €19,500, and €24,500 for the limited model. For an additional €350 on the R-50-TN model, you can add a groove design to the case, while for an additional €500, you can have black lugs and main crown. If it’s one thing I can say about the BRM R50 is that you’ve got choices.

The case on each version features a diameter of 50mm and can withstand up to 100 meters of static water pressure. As this is a skeletonized movement, both sides of the watch carry transparent scratch resistant sapphire crystals. The automatic movement has a total of 48 hours of power reserve, which can be measured on a scale at the 6 position. The BRM R50 is backed by a 3 year international guarantee.
