From master watchmakers Breguet, comes the Classic Dame – a timepiece that is unashamedly graceful with its smooth lines and detail intensive case design. The Breguet Classique Dame 9068 is made in two versions – one in 18kt white gold, and another in 18kt rose gold. Breguet has made ladies’ watches specially for such illustrious figures as Marie Antoinette, and Caroline Murat – Queen of Naples. In this vein, the brand has made a reputation for itself as a master of Haute Horlogerie.
This chic timepiece is made with a case diameter of 33.5mm, which is a fantastic size for women of all wrist sizes. The case middle is fluted like the edge of a coin on this model. This is a rarity in contemporary watchmaking as this technique requires many man hours to complete.
The bezel and lugs are gem-set with 88 full cut round brilliant diamonds with Top Wesselton color and VVS clarity. These diamonds total just about 61 points. The case back is transparent sapphire crystal displaying the decorated mechanical movement. This stunning ladies’ watch is water resistant to 30 meters (100 feet), that equates to just light washing of the hands at the most. The Breguet Classique Dame 9068 is fitted with a sharp black alligator leather strap.
The movement is self-winding and is individually numbered and signed ‘Breguet Caliber 591A’. This automatic movement carries an autonomy of 38 hours and it also features a silicon balance spring. Also in silicon is the escapement, which is of the Swiss in-line variety. The balance wheel alternates at a constant 28,800 VpH (4 Hz). To ensure accuracy, this timepiece is adjusted in 6 positions.
The dial is made from 18kt white gold and is beautifully engine turned, offering remarkable light play and texture on the Breguet Classique Dame 9068. The dial, like the movement, is signed Breguet and is individually numbered at the 12 and 6 positions respectively. The hour markers are done in conservatively sized Roman numerals. Indicating the time, are open tipped Breguet styled hands fashioned from blued steel. At the 3 position, an aperture displays the date on this classic and superbly crafted timepiece.
