For Basel 2013, 88 Rue Du Rhone has released a collection of lady’s watches that are guaranteed to be exceptional sellers. The watch featured here is sculpted from solid stainless steel made matte black with black PVD treatment. The case size is a perfect 35mm, large enough to be trendy yet ideally proportioned for daily wear. The chronograph pushers and ridged main crown are also PVD coated blending with the rest of the case. The two tiered bezel holds snugly an antireflective sapphire crystal which defends against nicks and scratches maintaining the aesthetic appeal of this piece for a longer time.
The dial is also black and it features a unique guilloche design of the company’s logo “88”. The hour markers are comprised of both Roman numerals and bezel set diamonds. The Roman numerals occupy the 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 positions while the diamond markers occupy the positions left. The diamonds used have a total carat weight of 33 points and offer superior clarity and Top Wesselton color. Astride the 12 position is the 88 Rue Du Rhone logo rendered in applied lettering. The minutes and hours hands are rhodium toned and offer lume for nighttime readability. Completing the dial is a date aperture at the 4 o’clock position.
Powering this trendy model is a quartz chronograph movement – Calibre 12 1/2 equipped with 13 jewels. The chronograph uses a central chronograph seconds hand (counterweighted with the 88 logo) and two counters at the 9 and 6 positions indicating the chronograph minutes and hours respectively. All three of the chronograph indicators are represented in purple making for quick readouts. The other register at 3 o’clock reveals the continuous seconds of the watch.
The strap is made from calf skin and is made shiny with alligator padding. The leather strap is hand sewn with purple contrast stitching. Securing the strap is a black PVD ardillon buckle. This lady’s timepiece from 88 Rue Du Rhone is water resistant to 50 meters (165 feet).
