Zenith Academy Georges Favre-Jacot 150 Years

As Zenith approaches their 150th anniversary this year, this acclaimed Swiss made watchmaker has produced something very special – definitely worthy of this most auspicious occasion. We here at Watch Marvel would like to introduce the Zenith Academy Georges Favre-Jacot 150 Years.

This timepiece is the result of 2 arduous years of R&D. The result – is this gorgeous Regulator styled timepiece that features a generous aperture that occupies roughly half of the dial. The aperture reveals the fusée and chain mechanism, which are held and kept in place by two diametric bridges. The fusée and chain mechanism allow for higher energy efficiency. The chain is 18cm long and is comprised of 575 parts. The chain attaches to the barrel and the mainspring and transmits energy at a consistent rate from the mainspring to the barrel.

These technological advancements are all made possible by the manual wound caliber El Primero 4810. As with all the El Primero movements, the 4810 alternates at 5Hz or 36,000 VpH. As usual, there is also a 50 hour power reserve. The movement is visible through the exhibition case back made from sapphire crystal. The movement features Côtes de Genève, and perlage on its ¾ main plate.

The case comes in 18kt rose gold, which has been polished to a superb finish. The watch features a large main crown for the effortless winding of this example of Haute Horlogerie. The strap is used is a dark brown alligator leather, secured using an ardillon buckle. Case diameter stands at 45mm across.

The dial is grained and it carries applied rose gold index hour markers, and rose gold hands. At 7:30 is the minutes subdial, while opposite this is the quenelle-shaped power reserve indicator.

Not surprisingly, the Zenith Academy Georges Favre-Jacot 150 Years is limited to 150 pieces worldwide.
