TW Steel Mitchell Niemeyer Edition

The TW Steel Mitchell Niemeyer Edition has raised the bar for designs form this up-and-coming watch manufacturer. TW Steel, which means “This Watch in Steel” was designed for Mitchell Niemeyer a DJ from the Netherlands who has been making considerable waves with his mostly edgy EDM music. The collaboration didn’t happen by chance as Niemeyer has been a brand ambassador since 2013. This new model, officially the TW313, is the first canteen styled watch to be fitted with a bracelet as opposed to leather.

The TW Steel Mitchell Niemeyer Edition is manufactured from sandblasted PVD titanium coated stainless steel with a polished black PVD bezel. The bezel features an engraved tachometric scale, which is used to calculate speed over a given distance while using the chronograph. The case on this model measures a total of 45mm across (not including the main crown). As with all Canteen models, the TW313 carries an eponymous crown guard, protecting the crown from impacts. Like the bezel, the chrono pushers are also polished black PVD. The bracelet also features a similar finish like the case in titanium PVD, with the middle links in polished black PVD stainless steel. This gorgeous timepiece carries a water resistance of 100 meters or 10 Bars.

The dial is equally as magnificent as the case which frames it with star elements inspired by Niemeyer’s favorite tattoo. The dial also carries a guilloche design in titanium toned horizontal stripes. The luminous hour markers stand out nicely against the dial, further enhanced by bright orange accents. Also in orange is the central chronograph seconds indicator. The remaining chronograph counters can be found at the 9 and 3 positions, displaying the chrono minutes and hours respectively. At 6 o’clock is the small seconds counter. Completing the dial is a neat date aperture residing at the 4:30 position. Powering the TW Steel Mitchell Niemeyer Edition is a powerful Miyota 6S20 movement made and assembled in Japan.
