Tudor's Fastrider Black Shield

The Black Shield is the newest addition to the Fastrider collection having come out in Basel, earlier this year. The Fastrider collection is part of an ongoing relationship between Tudor and Ducati. This model measures in at 42mm and is crafted from scratch proof injected black ceramic with a bead blasted finish. The case is monobloc which means that the Black Shield is made from one solid piece of ceramic.

The chronograph pushers and main crown are made from black PVD stainless steel. The stationary bezel has a tachymeter engraved on it. In the spirit of going fast, tachymeters work with the chronograph to determine average speed over a given distance.

The dial is matte black and features red indexes, red subdial indicators, and red luminous strips on the hands for a truly amazing look. Also red is the seal where the highly scratch resistant sapphire crystal and bezel meet. At the 9 o’clock position can be found the small seconds register, while the chronograph minutes and hours are located at 3 and 6 respectively. The date display window is vaulted and occupies the 4:30 position.

Powering this watch is the Tudor caliber 7753 which is based off of the ETA 7753. The movement is mechanical self-winding and carries a power reserve of 46 hours. The balance wheel beats at a constant 28,800 vibrations per hour making this watch quite precise. The chronograph on this model can time any event up to 12 hours.

This model is water resistant to 150 meters, making this watch suitable for outdoor activities. This model comes with either black leather with red contrast stitching or on black rubber.

If you were looking for the perfect motorcycle to accompany this watch, Ducati and Tudor have teamed up to produce a one of a kind motorcycle made from Ceramic and red highlights.
