The Roger Dubuis Hommage Flying Tourbillon Tribute To Mr. Roger Dubuis

As the name suggests, this timepiece from the Hommage collection is a tribute to Mr. Roger Dubuis as this model was developed by Mr. Roger Dubuis himself back in 2003. Re-released this year, this piece is limited in its production to just 208 pieces globally. Roger Dubuis holds the distinction of being the only watchmaker that certifies each and every model to the high standards of the Hallmark of Geneva.

The case of this watch is sculpted from 18kt rose gold brushed and polished to a fine finish. The case diameter stands at 45mm, which is considered oversized though just. The Hommage Flying Tourbillon is fitted with a prominent ridged main crown for the effortless winding of this timepiece.

As with all watches of this pedigree, there is a scratch resistant sapphire crystal protecting the dial, and also on the case back for the admiration of the movement. Roger Dubuis outfits this model with a brown alligator leather strap which complements the rose gold case and dial. Securing the leather strap is a single folding clasp made also from 18kt rose gold. This gorgeous gent’s watch is water resistant to 30 meters.

The rose gold dial features the presence of a flying tourbillon at the 8 o’clock position. Flying tourbillons are regarded as the next step up to the original version of the tourbillon. The main difference is that on the flying version the tourbillon mechanism isn’t secured in a carriage. This allows the tourbillon a greater range of motion.

At the 4 position is a power reserve indicator in retrograde format, which counts down the 60 hours of reserve when fully wound. There is a large double date window at 12. Marking the hours are large Roman numerals in white, which contrast nicely against the rose gold dial. The hours and minutes are indicated via rose gold hands. The Roger Dubuis Hommage Flying Tourbillon is powered by a manual wound movement.
