The Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 15,000 Gauss

From the Seamaster Aqua Terra collection comes a watch which is truly anti-magnetic. The Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 15,000 Gauss is even more anti-magnetic then Rolex’s Milgauss watch. Released in 2013, this timepiece has become one of the more sought after models in the Aqua Terra series. Omega is responsible for many innovations and improvements in horology over the years and has even been credited with producing the most precise movement in the world – the Co-Axial movement.

As the name suggests, the Seamaster Aqua Terra 15,000 Gauss is resistant to magnetic fields greater than 15,000 gauss, or 1.5 tesla. Magnetic resistance is extremely important more so today than it has ever been, as there are magnets and electromagnetic fields in our everyday lives. When a watches movement becomes compromised by a magnetic field the only solution is the replacement of the movement. This watch does not use a protective inner case, but instead creates the movement from non-ferromagnetic materials.

This exceptional timepiece is crafted from stainless steel and carries a case dimension of 41.5mm at the diameter. The case uses both brushed and polished finishes, which add depth and character to it. Omega fits a ridged main crown making for the easy adjustment for the time and date. The case back is transparent and is made from scratch resistant sapphire crystal. The dial window also uses sapphire crystal, which is chosen to safeguard against visible signs of wear and tear. This timepiece from Omega comes fitted with either a stainless steel bracelet, secured by a double deployant clasp; or a leather strap, fastened by a single folding clasp made from stainless steel.

The dial is black and it features a striated guilloche pattern. This model carries prominent index hour markers and rhodium toned hands, both coated with lume for the enhanced readability of the time at night. The seconds hand alternates in black and yellow to signify the watches resistance of magnetic fields. On the flange, there is a bold minute track which uses yellow Arabic numerals and white indexes. At the 3 o’clock position there us a date aperture.

This model features an automatic mechanical movement caliber 8508, which is equipped with the Co-Axial escapement. The Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 15,000 Gauss is officially chronometer certified by COSC, and is backed by an impressive 4 year international guarantee.
