Savoy has released a new limited edition for this year – the Icon Extreme. This model is made in a series of 100 pieces. The case is manufactured from stainless steel with rose gold ion plating. The case measures in at 43mm, generally considered an excellent for most gent’s wrist sizes. The case is shaped in a thinner tonneau type.
The crown is made from black ion plated stainless steel and it is ridged for ease-of-use while adjusting the date and time. The chrono pushers are made in an angular style complementing the aesthetics of the case. The lugs are distinguished by carbon fiber and the engraved name of the brand – “Savoy”. Also in carbon fiber is the non-rotating bezel with indexes and Arabic numerals.
On the outermost edges of the case are 4 black IP stainless steel screws. Completing the watch is a black rubber strap with a carbon fiber insert, which is rimmed in rose gold. The black rubber strap tapers into a stainless steel pin buckle personalized by Savoy. This model is water resistant to 100 meters or 330 feet.
Protecting the dial is a sapphire crystal, which has a total of 5 layers of glare proofing. The dial is black with 3 subdials present with rose gold rimming for optimal legibility. At the 3 position is the continuous seconds counter, while at the 9 and 6 are the minutes and hours totalizers respectively. The chrono seconds are displayed from a central hand. This chronograph can also display split and can add times under 60 seconds.
Two further subdial at the 10:30 and 1:30 positions display the day of the week and the month. The date ring is located on the flange and is indicated by a central hand. The semi-skeletonized hands and the indexes are all coated with lume for the readability of the time at night.
The movement powering this watch is the Ronda 5040F quartz caliber. This chronograph movement is as precise as 1/10th of a second.
