The New Armin Strom Skeleton Pure

The new Armin Strom Skeleton Pure is spectacular both on the inside and the outside. Armin Strom creates this timepiece in stainless steel, black PVD stainless steel, titanium, and 18kt rose gold. The case diameter on this collection is 43.8mm, and it rides 13mm off of the wrist for its case height.

Each iteration features a complementary colored alligator leather strap – black for the PVD stainless steel; brown for the 18kt rose gold; grey for the titanium; and blue for the stainless steel. These watches also come with a rubber strap option and also has the option of an ardillon clasp or a double deployant buckle. At the 6 position on the case is a lip on the bezel that easily identifies the brand. Water resistance on this model is 50 meters or 5 bars. Each edition is limited in its production to 100 pieces globally.

Protecting the skeletonized dial is a highly scratch resistant sapphire crystal, coated with anti-reflective treatment. The 3D-PVD coatings on the main plate are hued based on the material of the case. The 146 part movement features a double barrel system with an autonomy of, can you believe it, eight days. The balance wheel vibrates at a constant 18,000 VpH. The hours, minutes, seconds, and power reserve display are all governed by the manual winding caliber Armo9-S Pure. The balance is screwed with a Breguet overcoil. The movement is also visible from the case back, thanks to the exhibition sapphire crystal case back. Interestingly, when this watch is being wound the gears move on the dial side.

Atop of the skeletonized dial are stainless steel sword shaped hands, which actually makes this piece quite legible. At the 9 position is a small seconds counter, and at the 3 position is the power reserve indicator in retrograde format, which counts down from eight days.
