Breitling for Bentley 6.75 Midnight Carbon Limited Edition

The Breitling for Bentley 6.75 Midnight Carbon Limited Edition

Recently released is a brand new addition to the Breitling for Bentley series. This new watch, called The Breitling for Bentley 6.75 Midnight Carbon Limited Edition, is created in an exclusive series of 1000 pieces for distribution across the globe. The figure ‘6.75’ refers to the famous engine, which was found in the well-known Mulsanne line of limousines from Bentley.

As with all Breitling watches, this timepiece is certified a chronometer by the COSC. To achieve COSC certification, watches are submitted to various conditions over 15 days and 14 nights paying special attention to variances in the rate of the movement. A watch is only granted chronometer status if the variance in timekeeping does not exceed -4/+6 seconds per day. Unlike many other brands, if a Breitling watch fails to make the cut it is totally disassembled and reassembled and then resubmitted to the COSC for testing anew. Every Breitling watch on the market is chronometer certified – an amazing feat for such a large watch manufacturer.

The case of the watch is made in black steel (DLC coated stainless steel). This case carries oversized dimensions of 49mm, and it features the distinctive knurled bezel with the Bentley grille motif. The bezel is bi-directional with a pinion mechanism controlling the variable tachymeter – a variation of the circular slide rule, which is an algorithmic scale. The case back is solid and crafted from brushed stainless steel with a depiction of a five spoke wheel rim in relief. The main crown is screw locked maintaining the water resistance, which stands at 100 meters (10 Bars). Protecting the dial is a cambered sapphire crystal; glare proofed on both sides for superior readability. Breitling chooses a black rubber strap with a raised central motif  complementing the bezel and completing this timepiece. The strap is fastened using a classic pin buckle crafted from black steel.

The dial is black with striated slats revealing a glimpse of the movement. One of the defining features of the 6.75 line is the large double date aperture at the 12 position. The 6.75 Midnight Carbon uses rhodium toned indexes and hands. Both of which are coated with Super-LumiNova® for legibility at night. The chronograph is of the ¼ of a second variety, with totalizers at the 6 and 9 positions for the chrono hours and minutes respectively. The chronograph seconds is indicated using a central seconds hand.

This model is powered by the self-winding caliber 44B, which features 38 jewels. The Breitling 44B caliber alternates at a high frequency of 28,800 VpH. High frequency calibers time smaller intervals of seconds, making for a very precise timepiece. The Breitling for Bentley 6.75 Midnight Carbon Limited Edition is guaranteed for 2 years from the date of purchase.
