Presenting The Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Compressor Chronograph Ceramic

From Jaeger-LeCoultre this year is a watch that is as stunning as it is functional. Presenting the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Compressor Chronograph Ceramic. The watch is not overdone with complications but is a graceful example of a dressy sports watch. Naturally, as a member of the Compressor family of watches, this model is fitted with the Compressor style crown, which works by just switching it from side to side. A white indication means that the crown is locked, whereas a red display indicates that the crown is ‘open’ and ready to be pulled out for adjustments to the date or the time. This refined timepiece is limited to just 500 pieces worldwide.

The case is large with a diameter of 46mm and is made completely from black ceramic. The ceramic is matte finished toning the watch down a bit. Adding to the sporty aesthetic of the watch is a black Trieste calf skin strap with a pin buckle made from satin finished stainless steel. Also in satin finished stainless steel are the main crown and chronograph pushers. These elements stand out nicely and offer an excellent source of contrast from the all black ceramic case and black calf skin strap.

The black dial features a chronograph function, and a second time zone equipped with a day/night indicator. The hand governing the second time zone does not feature lume, while the hands for the hours and minutes carry luminescence. The chronograph seconds indicator is made in a red coloration which is striking against the jet black dial. The true seconds subdial is found at 6, while the counters for the chrono minutes and hours are found at 3 and 9 respectively. The day/night indicator rests just under the 12 position. Neatly slotted in at the 4:30 position is the date display. There are luminous indexes from 1-11 on the dial and a lone Arabic numeral at the 12 position.

Driving this model is the superb self-winding caliber 757, made from 300 parts (45 of which are jewels). This movement carries a 65 hour power reserve and vibrates at 28,800 vibrations per hour.  Jaeger-LeCoultre assembles and decorates this accurate movement by hand. This timepiece is outfitted with a scratch resistant sapphire crystal and is water resistant to 100 meters or 330 feet.
