Oscar de la Renta and Shinola Present the Lattice Watch

Two American legends have teamed up to produce a stunning timepiece that evinces both of their ideals for their respective crafts. Who am I referring to – none other than fashionista Oscar de la Renta and Detroit based watch and leather manufacturer Shinola.

De la Renta and Shinola designed this timepiece to complement a line of jewelry that was created by this fashion icon. Shinola makes the series by hand in their Detroit based factory. This is new ground for both entities as Oscar de la Renta has never forayed into the watch market and Shinola has never made a watch as feminine and downright classy as the Lattice. The Lattice watch is made in an exclusive series of just 1000 pieces worldwide. Each of the pieces is individually numbered on the case back.

This ladies’ watch features a 36mm case diameter. The timepiece comes in either yellow gold ion plated stainless steel, or just polished stainless steel. There is even a model that is offered with 68 full cut, round brilliant diamonds. The diamond version retails at £2,450, while the yellow gold ion plated steel edition, and stainless steel versions cost £1,450 and £1,300 respectively. There are two strap choices – a blue or a red alligator leather, both secured with a pin buckle clasp. The water resistance on the Lattice comes in at 5 ATM or 50 meters.

The scratch resistant sapphire crystal protecting the white mother of pearl dial is faceted for a truly luxurious aesthetic. The neat dauphine hands are framed by the lattice work that intersect over the dial. Sapphire crystal was not only chosen because of its scratch resistant properties but also due to its ab ability to be cut like a stone.

Driving this timepiece through time is a quartz movement made with Swiss made parts that have been assembled in the USA. This timepiece will be released in mid-October.
