Andre Agassi Sports the Longines Master Collection Retrograde

Past tennis legend Andre Agassi is endorsed by Longines and can be seen around the tennis circuits sporting the Longines Master Collection Retrograde. Agassi is known for his precision on the court and this trait is mirrored by the timepiece on his wrist. The Master Collection Retrograde is the most complicated watch in that collection – boasting some six hands and offering 8 readings.

The case of the Longines Master Collection Retrograde is sculpted from hypoallergenic stainless steel, polished and brushed to a fine finish. This model measures in at 44mm across. The watch features a ridged main crown and two pushers on either side for the adjustment of some of the complications. The strap used is made from brown alligator leather with white contrast saddle stitching for a slightly sporty aesthetic, This strap is secured using a triple folding clasp with a dual push button release system. This trendy gent’s watch is water resistant to 30 meters or 100 feet.

The dial is silver with what Longines describes as a ‘barleycorn’ guilloche design. All of the leaf shaped hands are created from blued steel, which stands out nicely against the dial. Apart from the central hands that indicate the hours and minutes, there is a small seconds dial in retrograde at the 6 position, a 24 hour scale at the 9 position, a date display at the 3 position, a day/night indicator at the 12, and a moon phase aperture just above the small seconds at 6. The roman numeral hour markers are painter on the dial in black.

Visible through the transparent sapphire crystal case back is the self-winding mechanical movement, which features a power reserve of 48 hours. This movement beats at a constant rate of 28,800 alternations per hour for optimum precision.
